Are you smarter than a 5th grader… February 28, 2007

Filed under: TV — mmmchocoloate @ 10:37 am

Wow! Did anyone see this show last night. It makes absolute fools of the contestants and a mockery of the American educational system. This show has five ten year olds who answer the questions that their adult contestants can’t. I was upset that I wasted fifteen minutes watching this television show. So don’t spend your time watching the show, do something a little more intelligent like read a book.

I have to admit that I as well wasted my time watching the show. I’m really not sure why. It made me think how much of the show is actually scripted?? Of course there will be more entertainment value if the 5th grader is smarter than the contestant. After all that is what they do for shows like Laguna or the Hills…Yet I still love both!

I didnt watch this show, but noticing its on right after american idol, and reality TV is going downhill real fast (except amazing race or apprentice)I could just imagine how bad it was, and after watching that preview ill stick to watching kids give it there all in Canada Winter Games hockey quarterfinals then watching shows like those

I HATE that show… the whole concept of it is stupid!! They ask questions about little things that you learn in fifth grade that theres no way an adult would remember because they are highly unimportant!!
Then when the adult gets it wrong they have to humiliate themselves by saying “I AM NOT SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER!!!” Like OMG!!! Why would you want to go on this show.. I think that this show is the worst reality show yet!

  4. The show is even worse than Simon Cowell mocking the dreams of young adults. This television show mocks Americans and their education system. I find it so disturbing how humiliation of people seems to increase ratings.
Furthermore, what exactly are the “humiliated” doing signing up for shows like this??? Why would anyone subject themselves to this?

When I saw this show on, I will admit that I watched like 10 minutes of it just to see what it was about. It amazes me that someone can create a TV show about this. Lets award people for being smarted than a Gr.5 kid by giving him/her money. The concept is a bit ridiculous to me and I really do not see this show lasting to long. At least I hope it doesn’t…
